Wednesday, the middle way day

“To find out what is truly individual in ourselves, profound reflection is needed; and suddenly we realize how uncommonly difficult the discovery of individuality is.” – C.G. Jung

This morning while taking photos of a beautiful waning gibbous Moon, my mind wandered into la la land. At one point I was laying in the wet grass, back flat to the Earth, while asking my hands to “just hold still.”

Deep breath in, then press the button while exhaling. That’s what the photography experts say, or what they all tell you they do. However, in reality, we all hold our breath–even though we know it may add a little wiggle to the shot.

Of course all the cats came to see what fool hardy thing I was up to at 7am, while laying in the wet grass, with a giant lens protruding from my face. One or two sniffed me, to make sure I was alive, while another thought I made a very nice bed.

When the Universe gives you a bit of ground to lay on, a few warm cats to snuggle you, and a clear blue sky to gaze into — you just roll with it.

For about 10 minutes I just laid there staring into the Infinite. Breathing in, my being draws nourishment from the surroundings. Breathing out, I return that abundance to All That Is.

A bit calmer, seriously grounded, and fully nuzzled by kitties, I breathe in. Breathing out my camera is still, and I complete the shot.

Much love.

World Photography Day

Happy World Photography Day, y’all! Here are two of my most favorite humans in the world allowing me to take photos of them.

Two posts in one day…that might just be a record for me.

Keep clicking along,

Updates; new podcast.

“No one can tell what goes on in between the person you were and the person you become. No one can chart that blue and lonely section of hell. There are no maps of the change. You just come out the other side. Or you don’t.”
― Stephen King

One of the mantras Mr. The Mister and I use is this: “It takes as long as it takes.” That’s my attitude with getting everything together on my site. It’s just gonna take as long as it takes.

In the meantime I’ve rebooted the podcasts, changed things around on other platforms, and mad a goal chart to keep myself on track.

Not much else to post about today, so I’ll just leave you with today’s podcast.

Art, Creativity, Realness – The Authenticity of Breaking Down

Big hugs and lots of love!

after all this time

“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”
― Oscar Wilde
“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.”
― Robert Frost

For those of you who have been long time followers, you might notice that things are just a little bit different around my site. In an effort to really focus on what is important – from self to family to work – I’ve taken some steps to streamline my work. This also helps me keep a healthy distance from that which adds extra chaos.

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
― George Bernard Shaw

There are times in life when you must accept defeat. Despite all the inspirational quotes and platitudes, falling down a few times gives you a big dose of humility. It also allows you to continually take a moral inventory of everything you’ve experienced. Sometimes it is okay; others times it feels like you are running an obstacle course of burning trash cans while strangers throw rotten tomatoes at you.

The good news is that you will survive. Difficulties might last longer than you want them to last, but it does get better — I promise. However, what does stick around is the desire to never, not ever, be in those experiences again. Your entire being seeks a way out of past turmoils, while also trying to understand all the new growth, as it creates healthy boundaries for the future.

One thing I want to point out, right now, is that you do not owe anyone an excuse for taking care of yourself, finding your priorities, and doing what is important. Wellness is what you need it to be, not what others think it should be for you.

Also, it is never, not ever, too late to have a happy life.

So that brings me to all the site changes.

Thanks to my wonderful new assistant, I’m learning how to better share my work, promote what I do, and stick to what provides resources for my family. As much as I love Spiritual Direction, wellness work, and so on – it is not what brings me joy. Also, it does not sustain, nourish, or flow with my family.

Now is the time for getting back to my roots, a coming back to myself – so to speak – and stop allowing others to steal my sunshine.

With that, welcome to the new and improved Kimboburly Tales. Please feel free to drop me a message if you have any questions about all the changes. There are still a few finishing touches, but most of the work is done.

All my love,
~ Kim
